The Santa Barbara Fencing Academy provides instruction and coaching in
sabre, epee, and foil. Children's, junior and adult classes are available.
We also teach wheelchair and seated fencing.
In addition to the classes, private instruction is available.
Please call to schedule private lessons. The club provides the basic
equipment for classes and lessons, including protective gear and
weapons.
Fencing is a great sport which challenges the mind as well as the body.
It is one of the oldest Modern Olympic Sports, with competitive clubs at most of the top schools in the
country.
Many of our students are currently competing at Brown,
Princeton, Stanford,
and Columbia, to name a few. It requires a lot of
strategy and cunning along with
physical ability. However, just because
you are not a top
athlete does not mean you
cannot participate and/or compete.
The Academy is managed by Head Coach Michael D'Asaro,
a 1995 Pan Am Gold
medalist and 1996 Olympian. New fencers and prospective members
are encouraged to call Coach
D'Asaro at 805-252-2990 for a free, private lesson to
introduce you to the sport of fencing and to our club.
"What the mind can imagine, the body can accomplish."
The cost for lessons is $30 per lesson or
$270 per 10 pack.
Class fees are $125 per month, with 2 classes per week.
Santa Barbara Fencing Academy classes are being held in downtown
